Congo coffee House roast: Most coffee aficionados have probably tried a number of different African coffees. The likely suspects would be Kenyan, Ethiopian and Tanzanian. There are, however, a number of other coffee producing countries in Africa that fly under the radar. The Democratic Republic of the Congo is one of these countries. This coffee offers a truly distinguished flavor profile, you probably haven't tasted anything like it! There seems to be a divide when it comes to Congo Kivu coffee. It's not quite a love it or hate it scenario, but people that enjoy it, enjoy it immensely. Notes of cinnamon and chocolate are paired with a pleasant bitterness reminiscent of tart apple. The acidity is notable, and the finish is dry with hints of earth. Be intrigued, be very intrigued. Congo Kivu coffee is not for everyone, but if it happens to be for you, you'll love it!
